Five (More) Great Things To Do In Boston

Due to its proximity to Maine, Cape Cod & a bunch of other places we love, my family seems to be swinging through Boston quite a bit these days. And lucky us, because Boston is the ideal family-friendly combination of history, art & food, all wrapped up in a charming & easily-walkable package. We discover something new every time we visit, but we also have our non-negotiable favorites we return to time and again (I’m talking about you, Regina Pizzeria).

I already wrote a Boston Travel Guide earlier this year, but our recent visit & some A+ intel from savvy Priss & Vinegar followers inspired me to write an update. Here are Five (More) Great Things To Do In Boston With Kids:

1. Be a cheesy tourist!

While I typically avoid any part of a city where novelty sweatshirts & keychains are sold,  I actually recommend visiting Boston’s signature tourist attractions. My family enjoys the highly-interactive & engaging Boston Tea Party Museum, The Paul Revere House (nerds gotta nerd), and the totally entertaining, if a little silly, Boston Duck Tour. You’re not from here, so you might as well lean in!

2. Snag a coveted dinner reservation.

Boston has not historically been a food town of significance, but that sure does seem to be changing. Savvy Bostonian followers recommend Sarma, Pammy’s, Kava Neo-Taverna, Giulia, Coppa, SRV, Fox & the Knife, and Cicada.

3. Charles Street > Newbury Street.

I simply cannot with crowds & chain stores, so strolling Charles Street in Beacon Hill is exactly my speed. Visit charming antiques shops, the beautifully-curated Dress Boston (one of my favorite clothing boutiques anywhere), kodomo for a lovely selection of children’s clothing, Beacon Hill Books & Cafe of Instagram fame (you’ll see why), Beacon Hill Chocloates for treats, and one of the best Tatte’s in town imho.

4. Museum so hard.

Boston has so many museums that I dare you to find one that doesn’t blow your skirt up. The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is a wholly-original & immersive fine art experience, the Museum of Science is *incredible* (and I’ve been to tons so I would know), and the Harvard Museum of Natural History is a dino nerd must. Bookmarking the Boston Athanaeum, the Museum of Fine Arts & the Kennedy Presidential Library & Museum for our next visit!

5. Take in the view from the Raffles rooftop.

The hands-down, most-recommended new spot in Boston according to practically all of you is the Raffles Hotel Long Bar & Terrace for A+ views, vibe & drinks.  I did not make it, because kids, but it is at the tippy-top of my wishlist for our next visit!
