#babyisnotimpressed

Purees? Seriously, guys, this is NOT what I meant when I lunged at your cheeseburgers last week.

  • My son has wrinkled his nose at every pureed bite since beginning solids a few weeks ago. Orangette‘s piece about how she’s raising an adventurous eater gives me great comfort. (Orangette)
  • And while we’re talking about introducing solids to baby, I’m getting past the hippie name and wondering if baby-led weaning might be a good fit for my little guy. (Motherlode)
  • Ever feel like the harried pace of 21st century parenting has got it all wrong? Jennifer Senior’s book “All Joy and No Fun” explores how our modern parenting culture is sucking the enjoyment out of family life and shares how you can bring it all back. (New York Magazine)
  • Searching for some interior design porn? Look no further than Domino Magazine‘s Instagram feed, which includes brilliant (and practical) design tips with each gorgeous photograph. (And while you’re at it, follow Priss & Vinegar for up-to-the-minute insta-dorableness courtesy of my children.) (Instagram)
  • Could the Facebook Paper app make people fall in love with Facebook all over again? (Slate)
  • LaineyGossip dishes out über-smart celebrity culture analysis, so we’re loving their take on the ethics of photographing celebrities’ children. (LaineyGossip)
  • I’m mildly obsessed with these Sophie & Lili custom watercolors of mothers and children. NEED. (Sophie & Lili)
  • Valentine’s Day is coming up, so don’t send your little darling to her class party with some sad, last-minute cards from Walgreen’s. DIY that shit with Buzzfeed’s homemade valentine ideas or be all prepared and fancy with some Minted custom photo cards. (Buzzfeed and Minted)
  • I stayed at Solage Calistoga for the first time this past weekend and was thoroughly impressed: elegant spa facilities; delicious food at breakfast, lunch and dinner; and cruiser bikes parked all about for impromptu rides through the surrounding vineyards. (Oh yeah, and when I forgot some breast pump parts at home, the concierge pulled some out of thin air for me.) My highest recommendation. (Solage Calistoga)
