A Midsummer Bucket List

stinson beach

People are talking about school supply shopping and it’s starting to freak me out. (STOP PLEASE.) You guys, it’s still summer, and there are so many good times left to be had. Here are the boxes just begging to be checked off my summer bucket list:

Take the kids to a baseball game.

Because nothing says summer like overpaying for crappy hot dogs.

#wearmoresundresses

You mean I’ve been tooling around in cutoffs and breton tees every day when there exist in the world adorable sundresses like this one? And this one? And omigod this one?!

Host an outdoor movie night.

Watching a movie outdoors is charming times a million. AND you don’t have to feel guilty about your kids getting screen time because the fresh air they’re getting cancels that all out. #parenting

Eat ALL THE ICE CREAM.

Man oh man, does the East Bay have some primo ice cream purveyors like Ici (gourmet ice cream), Curbside Creamery (hipster ice cream), and Fentons (classic soda fountain ice cream). Why is this box unchecked on my list, exactly?

Get both of my children swimming properly.

Those Puddle Jumpers are amazeballs for lazy parents named Heather who don’t feel like swimming all the time, but it’s kind of time my kids were truly water-safe.

And a few things we just HAVE to do again.

Like host a lemonade stand; spend a family beach day at Stinson with the super chic, sold-out beach tent I scored at HomeGoods (I’ll be gloating about it forever, in case you were wondering); surprise my kids with a water balloon fight; and sleep outside (maybe just in our own backyard this time).
