Everyday photographs are wonderful, as well as especially convenient given modern mobile phone technology. (We’ve taken over 2,000 shots of the Little Lady on our iPhone alone.) We treasure each and every one of these daily snapshots, but we are also always on the hunt for other special ways to capture these fleeting days of babyhood. We’d been toying with the idea of commissioning a silhouette from an Etsy artist, but we could never get quite the right photograph of our dear Little Lady’s profile.
So we were delighted to learn that our favorite little neighborhood paperie, Soirée San Francisco, would be playing host to renowned silhouette artist Karl Johnson. The Little Lady had her sitting yesterday and we are so pleased with the results.
Karl works incredibly quickly, so the “sitting” itself lasted all of two minutes (mercifully brief considering how active our little darling has been lately). It was, in fact, so quick that we figured Karl must have a standard baby profile he can cut in his sleep and that there was no way this silhouette would look specifically like our child. But sure enough, he captured her fine wispy hair, long lashes, upturned nose and sweet little lips. (He even included her double chin!) The Hus-b and I can’t stop looking at it, and we have a feeling that we’ll become even more enamored with this keepsake as she grows into a young lady and those baby wisps and chubby cheeks become a dear memory.
What a cutie!! Love it!!
Thank you, Auntie Erin 😉 The Little Lady can’t wait to visit with you next week!
