While not technically a “museum”, we thought The Conservatory of Flowers would be a unique spot to mark the Little Lady’s nine month birthday. Our dear baby has seemed quite interested in flora and fauna lately, gently reaching for the wreath each time we pass our front door as well as occasionally eating flowers intended for sniffing. (We’ve pried an entire flower from her mouth as she smiled at us with pink petals literally stuck to her lips.)
With an aquatic plant lagoon, two tropical displays and rooms full of extraordinary potted plant displays, we knew the Little Lady’s mind would be blown by The Conservatory of Flowers. We were also keen to visit the Playland exhibit (since closed), which was of special interest to our mother who fondly recalls Playland at the Beach from her childhood in San Francisco.
Original Playland memorabilia was incorporated into the exhibit, which also prominently featured a miniature replica of Playland at the Beach made from re-purposed materials (the pencil sharpener ferris wheel was a little weird) and bonsai plants. I think we can officially add this to the pile of embarrassing family photos we’re amassing.
Relieved that none of these gorgeous orchids ended up in the Little Lady’s curious hands…
We *finally* tried wearing the Ergo as a backpack. The good news? The Little Lady seemed to appreciate having a different perspective on the world. The bad news?
She thinks hair pulling is *hilarious*. Sigh…
She’s so cute! I’m glad to see she likes the ergo. I’m thinking of ordering one for the new baby.
