There was a time when I had what could be called a “beauty regimen.” (Ha!) But as a busy wife, mom, and blogger, I’ve had to pare down to a teeny-tiny collection of beauty essentials that keep me from looking completely tragic at preschool drop-off.
I am no beauty guru (and there are so many good ones already), but I am a ninja-level busy person and product researcher. Here’s my list of beauty must-haves for women who have zero minutes to waste on complicated routines and sh*t that doesn’t work:
1. Sunday Riley “Good Genes”
I’m generally skeptical of beauty products that promise so much, but this stuff is the BUSINESS. Within a single use my skin looked glow-ier (technical term) and felt smoother. Obsessed times a million.
2. Ole Henriksen “POWER Peel PRO-strength Microdermabrasion/AHA Peel System”
If, like me, you have stubborn pregnancy melasma that won’t quit your body long after the baby has (RUDE), this peel is game changing. No time for a multi-step facial, you say? Do the first exfoliating mask in the shower and then complete the next two masks while checking your morning email. Multitasking FTW!
3. In Fiore “Nourrit Face Oil“
In Fiore has been making rad face oils since wayyyy before they were trendy, which makes me trust them more. (Skeptic, remember?) It smells heavenly and makes my skin feel not greasy or coated, but balanced. P&V tip: Add a single drop to your morning sunscreen for extra moisture, because we all know how well “moisturizing SPFs” work ?.
4. Glossier “Boy Brow”
An aggressive over-tweezing phase in college left me with permanent Chola brows. (Whoops!) Mama’s got no time for artfully applying eyebrow powder, which is why Glossier Boy Brow has basically changed my life. A few swipes and your eyebrows are groomed and ever so slightly fuller without looking “done.”
5. Olio E Osso “Balm No. 3”
Any makeup that requires a mirror or a brush just isn’t happening most mornings (sorry), which is why I majorly dig Olio E Osso’s balms. They function as both lip and cheek color, and the applicator is basically a giant gluestick that even my toddler could apply flawlessly. I’m a big fan of the sheer cherry-hued No. 3, but melon pink No. 2 is approaching cult status and sheer No.1 was originally designed for baby skin. (Remember what I said about multitasking?!)
And I know it sounds weird, you guys, but I continue to SWEAR by regular eyelash curls & tints. Waking up every morning looking like you already curled and mascara-ed your lashes 1) cuts three minutes out of your morning routine, and 2) is awesome.
Definitely going to try a couple of these. Thanks!
