Our Weekend To-Do List

13 Jul

Massive reductions on traditional children’s clothing at one of our favorite boutiques? We plan to hit the 70% off sale at Dottie Doolittle HARD.

Our fingers are crossed that we’ll have time for a solo run (we didn’t get back to our pre-Little Lady weight by magic, people). Our everyday Nike Free’s are great for knocking around but weren’t substantial enough for running, so we are loving the new Mizuno Wave Nirvana 8′s we picked up at Fleet Feet. We’ve said it before but it bears repeating: running shoes perform *so* much better when they’ve been fitted properly. Don’t screw around picking them out yourself at Sports Basement and end up injured because you wanted to save ten bucks.

Working through our CSA boxes from Eatwell Farm continues to be a satisfying (and delicious) project. We’re planning a family taco night tomorrow using the season’s first tomatoes and some delicate spring onions to make the Hus-b’s epic pico de gallo and Wakefield cabbage to make a creamy lime crema slaw; baking some whole wheat zucchini bread to tempt our suddenly-picky Little Lady (like we said yesterday: we’ve got ourselves a toddler!); and tossing together “Jan’s Potato Salad” (recipe from Tasting Table by way of Facebook) for our tailgate at the “Brothers of the Sun” concert this Sunday. Oh yes, and we have to figure out what the heck to do with lemon verbena other than make tisane. Anyone?

Hit the Friday night Off The Grid at Fort Mason for Happy Dumpling potstickers and a chicken tikka burrito from Curry Up Now, snag a fresh-squeezed greyhound at Lion Pub, and then catch the late show at the Vogue Theater of Wes Anderson’s sentimental and beautifully-rendered “Moonrise Kingdom”. (Tums optional.) This is not so much a to-do item for us as it is a suggestion for you, as we followed this exact itinerary last Friday and had a fantastic evening. Happy Friday!

Wasn’t it a great show? Grace Potter is fantastic. Our tailgate ended up being decidedly less involved than originally planned: Vietnamese banh mi and cans of beer!

You are such a star for going to a show in your third trimester — bravo! Hope you are feeling well and getting excited for your little one’s arrival. It is such a wonderful adventure!
